Wheeling, W.V. — Athletes took to the streets of Wheeling on Sunday afternoon for a grueling test of endurance as the 48th annual Ogden Wellness Weekend wrapped up with the “Tough as Nails” Urban Challenge.
The event featured a 6-mile course with more than 20 obstacles designed to push competitors to their limits. Along the route, participants climbed over abandoned cars, scaled flood walls and worked through a demanding series of challenges.
Despite the intensity, many competitors said the difficulty is part of what keeps them coming back.
“It’s fun to get out here and do something fun, and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice both overseas and here at home,” participant Kyle Martin said.
After finishing the course, participants gathered with family and friends for food, drinks and live music.
