Jacksonville Memorial Hospital is bringing its Summer Fun and Wellness event back for a fourth year.
The event will be from 4 to 6 p.m. June 10 at Community Park. The event is aimed at children and their families and will feature giveaways and activities centered on community health.
Central Illinois Food Bank, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois and Hy-Vee will have a drive-through food distribution event starting at 4 p.m., accompanied by a performance by Jacksonville Drumline Institute.Â
Ryne Turke, facility coordinator for Fitness World Health Club, will lead physical activities from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for those attending.
The Salvation Army Food Canteen and Spirit of Faith Soup Kitchen will distribute free meals during the event. Lions Club will have several health and wellness opportunities at the event, including vision and hearing screenings.
Southern Illinois University Medicine’s ThinkFirst program will hand out free booster seats while supplies last.
Free Ferris wheel rides will be available and a bicycle rodeo will take place in the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce parking lot inside the park.
Representatives of area organizations also will be on hand to talk about their summer youth programs and camps.
