There’s a tangible chill in the air, which means we’re starting to crave warming, creamy dishes that require minimal effort. Enter M&S’s new limited-edition marry me chicken pasta bake, a ready meal designed to bring the viral flavour trend straight to the dinner table.
‘Marry me’ chicken has become hugely popular in recent years, thanks to its winning combination of tender chicken, creamy sauce, garlic, herbs and sundried tomatoes. M&S has captured those familiar flavours in a generous 800g pasta bake that serves two. It combines marinated British chicken breast and pasta in a rich sauce, and is finished with regato cheese.
If you’re after an easy midweek meal or laid-back date night, try serving it with a crisp green salad and some garlic bread for mopping up every last bit. Creamy, cheesy and full of comforting flavour, it’s a simple meal to see you through the first stretch of autumn.
We’ve spotted it on the shelves of our local M&S Foodhall already for £8.50, although this may vary. Following a revamp of its Italian pasta range, M&S has released a series of similarly tempting pasta bakes ahead of this one, all capturing popular flavours. Think: tomato & mozzarella, meatballs, beef bolognese and tuna pasta bake. Other new limited-edition releases alongside the marry me chicken pasta bake include a spicy pepperoni pasta bake and macaroni cheese with spicy buffalo sauce.
We’ve also noticed other supermarket releases inspired by ‘marry me’ flavours, including pasta sauces from Heinz and Homepride, as well as a Tesco Finest dine-in creamy ‘marry me’ chicken ready meal. It’s likely a trend that’s set to continue, as supermarkets and brands devise increasingly inventive reincarnations of this flavour combination.
