CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The Linn County Worksite Wellness Committee is inviting local employers to a free summer roundtable focused on employee wellness and workplace support.
The event will be held June 23 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Linn County Public Health, Room 234 A/B, 1020 Sixth St. SE in Cedar Rapids.
The roundtable will highlight two issues that can impact workers during the summer months — work-life balance for families and increased sun exposure on the job.
Organizers say the session will provide employers with affordable, local ideas to help families reduce screen time and become more engaged with their communities. Attendees will also learn ways businesses can support employee well-being and strengthen workplace culture.
The roundtable will also focus on skin cancer prevention in the workplace. According to the 2026 Cancer in Iowa report, an estimated 21,700 new invasive cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed in Iowa this year, with skin cancer making up a significant portion of those cases.
Employers attending the roundtable will also have the opportunity to enroll in a free Worksite Wellness Assessment designed to help businesses identify successful workplace wellness policies and areas for improvement.
All Linn County employers are eligible to participate, with organizers especially encouraging small businesses with 15 to 20 employees to take part.
The committee is also looking for a new planning committee member representing a small business to help organize quarterly roundtable events.
