EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Planet Fitness is once again encouraging teens to stay active during summer break with the return of its annual High School Summer Pass program, offering free gym access to students ages 14 to 19 from June 1 through August 31.
Now in its sixth year, the nationwide initiative allows eligible teens to work out at more than 2,900 participating Planet Fitness locations throughout the United States and Canada after completing online pre-registration.
According to the company, the program was created to help young people maintain healthy habits during the summer months while providing a welcoming and non-intimidating gym environment. Planet Fitness says it has invested more than $460 million in waived membership dues since the program launched, helping millions of teens gain access to fitness resources at no cost.
Participants will have access to cardio and strength-training equipment, certified fitness trainers, and the Planet Fitness mobile app, which includes on-demand workout content and digital exercise programs.
This year’s program also includes a partnership with fitness apparel brand Gymshark, giving registered participants access to exclusive discounts on workout gear.
Planet Fitness CEO Colleen Keating said the company aims to make fitness more accessible for younger generations as interest in physical and mental wellness continues to grow among teens.
Registration is currently open online and at participating clubs. Teens under 18 may need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver before using the facilities independently.
