PHOENIX (AZFamily) — At least six more people have reached out with complaints about billing disputes with EoS Fitness after recent On Your Side reports on the company, which operates 43 gyms in Arizona.
One person said she was threatened with collections over hundreds of dollars worth of personal training sessions she says she never agreed to for her three children. Another thought she was signing up for three personal training sessions, only to find out she had been locked into a four-month contract that cost $88 every two weeks.
“EoS Fitness had me sign up for personal training sessions that I never agreed to. I went online to research and found your story, and the other cases are almost word-for-word what I’m going through,” one viewer wrote.
Another viewer said previous On Your Side reporting mirrored his experience, saying he continued to be billed “despite months of cancellation attempts through their own published channels.”
On Your Side flagged the additional cases to the company. A spokesperson said they had been resolved. Some viewers report they’ve already received refunds. For others, refunds are in process.
EoS Fitness previously told On Your Side the company is “continually focused on providing an outstanding experience for our members and guests, and improving the membership process. This includes ongoing team member training and improved communication to ensure members have clear information at every step.”
Consumers who are being billed for something they did not agree to or cannot get out of a contract should start with their home gym and make sure everything is documented.
If that does not resolve the issue, consumers can file a complaint with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, which receives complaints about gym membership issues.
