Hanover, Pa. Center Square project to remove secondary lights
Here’s a look at some of the changes planned to the traffic signals and crosswalks in the Center Square by March of 2027.
Hanover is set to get the area’s second Planet Fitness location in a north Hanover storefront, according to the business.
On the website of national gym chain Planet Fitness, the business shared a new “Hanover (North)” gym location, with the address of 1150 Carlisle Street in Penn Township.
The new location is within the North Point Plaza, a strip mall on Carlisle Street, which sits directly on the municipal line between Penn Township and Hanover Borough.
According to the real estate listing for the spaces at the North Point Plaza by Pomegranate Real Estate, Planet Fitness will occupy the 14,335-square-foot former space that formerly housed a Joann Fabrics and Crafts store.
Joann Fabrics closed its doors at the Carlisle Street location in 2025 as the chain of fabrics navigated bankruptcy filings.
“We are coming soon,” Planet Fitness shared on their website. “Our brand new location will feature state-of-the-art equipment, the PF Black Card Spa, clean locker rooms, and super friendly team members.”
Planet Fitness opened their first Hanover location at 781 Baltimore Street in Penn Township in 2009, newspaper records show.
